Colin Webster is the founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Hero Ventures Ltd., a seed and early stage venture fund focused on technology. He is responsible for the overall corporate and investment vision of the company. During his tenure both in startups and in the venture capital business, Colin has gained extensive experience assisting entrepreneurs to shape their vision into successful long term growth companies. Colin has a history of working as a minion in corporate environments, such as NCR Canada, CAST Shipping in Belgium and Hummingbird Communications; as an entrepreneur/founder with companies such as Truition, Jatheon Technologies, FirstCoverage, Dos Cielos; and as a venture investor for all the porfolio of companies at Hero Ventures. His ability to work with senior management of investee companies, as well as providing advice where existing management lack the experience or skill set, has been vital to the success of Hero’s investments.
Colin currently serves as a director of Jatheon Technologies, MedChart Inc and reBOOT Canada. In addition, Colin serves as an advisor to The Next 36 and the UofT Hatchery entrepreneur programs. Colin previously served on the board of Well.ca (private), Truition (acquired byCDC software, 2009), FirstCoverage (acquired by YouDevise, 2011), DataDepositBox (IPO in 2014) and TreyeWear Inc.(private)
Colin is a Electrical Engineering/Economics major from Princeton University, holds two patents for sports glasses technologies and received a Silver Jubilee Medal from the Queen for his non-profit work with reBOOT Canada. Colin is based in Toronto.
