Doug Rennie is a Molecular Biologist with expertise in regulatory compliance, safety compliance and laboratory management.
Doug spent many years holding several positions with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as Lab Manager for various core lab facilities, running labs focused on cancer research, genetic sequencing and drug discovery. In 2012, after developing a keen interest in the emerging MMJ industry, and in particular, pediatric cannabinoid therapies for young children with Dravet syndrome, he joined efforts with ProVerde Labs.
While with ProVerde Labs, Doug helped to build-out the lab, establish regulatory compliance and then help develop and implement ISO 17025 accreditation as Quality Manager. Doug later went on to join Sage Cannabis as Chief Operating Officer, bringing his knowledge of regulatory requirements and strategic implementation of them, along with his experience in extensive renovations of technical facilities, to help build-out a vertically integrated MMJ dispensary.
Doug recently joined AOCS as Technical Services Project Manager, with a focus on national standardization efforts of testing methods, as well as, helping to expand the National Laboratory Proficiency Program for Cannabis Testing. Doug also studies the identification of contamination sources in extraction and post–extraction processes in oils and consumables by ancillary means and handling.
