Q&A – Riley Cote: Athletes Lead the Way in Discovering Cannabis’ Benefits
NHL “enforcers” ache in body parts we didn’t even know could hurt. And former Philly Flyer Riley Cote – with more than 50 career brawls – literally learned the hard way how to deal with pain. He was introduced to a regimen of cannabis-based medicine from his sister, an MS patient. But during his pro career, Cote was forced to use “respectable” pain-killers like opioids and prescribed narcotic sleep aids and muscle relaxants, or risk a criminal record. He considered it poison. Now on the board of PAHIC (Pennsylvania Hemp Industries Council), he’s dedicated to healthy lifestyles and to helping athletes find safe, non-toxic pain, anxiety and sleep relief. His story is inspiring and instructive for athletes and fans alike.
