Emma Baron
Emma Baron is the Clinic Administrator and Operations Manager at Summertree Medical Clinic, and co- founder and creative director at Milkweed Co., curating thoughtful design, craft, and ritual for the contemporary cannabis consumer.
For the last three years, Emma has worked to create the welcoming atmosphere at Canada’s only Rheumatologist-led cannabis clinic, Summertree Medical Clinic. She works closely with patients to support their learning and use of cannabis for therapeutic applications, including the preparation and delivery of custom cannabis formulations for some of our most senior & ability-challenged patients. Through our research and findings in the clinic, she has developed and delivered a variety of educational materials to patients and the public.
Observing the cannabis journeys of clients and friends led Emma to start Milkweed Co. when there was a lack of quality and style choices for consumers. Milkweed sources and co-creates accessories with Canadian makers for cannabis storage, organization, and enjoyment – made for those who appreciate locally-made goods. With a background in not-for-profit administration and the arts, Emma is passionate about working for social change at the local level. Co-founder of the Leslieville Farmers’ Market, Docent at Nuit Blanche, and Citizen Scientist with the David Suzuki Foundation – she loves to work to improve policy, but also to jump in and get her hands dirty with the details.
It’s the combination of experience working with the Ontario farming community and cannabis that has led Emma down the path of topicals. An extension of Milkweed’s handmade goods includes cannabis skincare derived from as many locally farmed ingredients as possible, with sustainability and fresh ingredients in mind.
