SO WHO IS RUDY BLAIR? I’ve been in the Broadcasting Industry for almost 30 years in both Radio and Television. 23 of those years was with 680News as the Music & Entertainment Reporter. During that time I’ve interviewed some of the biggest artists in music including Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lorde, Gordon Lightfoot, Tony Bennett and Tim McGraw to name a few. I was there for many of these artists at the beginning of their careers and helped give them their first national interview spotlight including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Avril Lavigne and The Tenors. I’ve estimated I’ve interviewed over 7,000 artist and that’s a lot to remember. I’ve covered several big events multiple times including The Grammy, Junos, Much Music Video Awards,The Canadian Screen Award and Canada’s Walk Of Fame. I’ve also been lucky winning several honours including 16 Radio-Television News Directors Association National and Regional Awards, The Harry Jerome Award, inducted into the Humber College Radio Broadcasting Hall Of Fame,The Vaughan Road Academy Hall of Fame and received an Honorary Degree from Humber College. I’ve appeared on several televisions shows, reported for CityNews and had my own Rogers Television show, ON THE MIC WITH RUDY BLAIR where I not only interviewed many of the top music acts in the business but also new indie artists and helping them get exposure.
I’ve continued this passion with my website Rudy Blair Entertainment Media rudyblairmedia.com where I interview indie artists, establish performers and legends of music.
I’ve been the host of the CBC Radio 2 seven part radio series Big Country with Rudy Blair in 2016 celebrating the upcoming Canadian County Music Awards and also hosting the RadioMogul on line show Vinyl Avenue with Rudy Blair presented by CasinoRama Resort where I speak with legendary artists who are performing at CasinoRama.
And for the second year I’ll be the host of the summer indie music showcases Live at City Hall & Chevrolet presents Indie Friday’s at Yonge-Dundas Square.
