Thomas H. Clarke
Thomas H Clarke (THC) has been selling cannabis for over thirty years in and around St. John’s, NL. He has been a cannabis social justice advocate for many years and is a father of three. He fought extremely hard in Newfoundland for the government to allow private retailers to open cannabis shops. He was successful in obtaining a cannabis retail license in Portugal Cove/St Philips where his independent cannabis retail store is the place to go, and just 8 minutes from the St. John’s International Airport. He believes that the more localized the industry, than the better it will be for our communities and he continues to advocate for localization. He has been featured in High Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, As it Happens, and the Midas Letter; he has been coined the face of cannabis in Newfoundland and Labrador. With the initials THC it is fitting that he was the first independent private cannabis retailer in Canada to make a sale at Midnight on October 17th, 2018, which has given him international attention. He has proven to be a knowledgeable source of old-school meets new-school cannabis culture and is an example of how the black market crossover has its own unique challenges with legalization. Clarke, who grows his own medical cannabis for personal use at home, has a trademark for The Wild Newfoundland Blueberry Cannabis Company and hopes to team up with an LP to grow craft blueberry strains in Newfoundland and Labrador and market it to the world. Some say he has High hopes but he is a force to be reckoned with.
